The Lost Frequencies Radio Project Alternative: Archived, Alive, Amplified
Sublime is officially back—with their first new album in 30 years, led by the upcoming single “Ensenada,” dropping July 18. But this comeback isn’t just about nostalgia. It’s a full-circle moment powered by collaboration, independence, and legacy. In a new Billboard interview, the band reflects on everything: their high school dropout beginnings, the chaos and joy of their rise, and the bittersweet momentum now carried by Jakob Nowell, son of late frontman Bradley Nowell.
Jakob, who grew up surrounded by the music and myth of his father’s band, now steps to the mic with both reverence and confidence. Working with alt‑rock mainstays like Travis Barker, Jon Joseph (BØRNS), and Jon Feldmann, Sublime is choosing to release the album independently—staying true to their DIY roots. Add in some love for Lana Del Rey’s “Doin’ Time” cover and reflections on their Warped Tour heyday, and you’ve got a band that’s not just returning, but reawakening.
Sublime is playing for now, not just from then. And here at LFRP, we’re all in.
🎧 You’ll hear “Ensenada” in Fresh Spotlight the moment it drops—July 18.
